Step 1: Get Acquainted with Bridgemount Academy
We would love for you to visit our school so that we can get acquainted! We require all parents to visit the School before applying for admission. In order to gain more insight into our program, we offer interested parents two opportunities to visit our school: School Tours and Open Houses.
Tours begin in mid October and occur on select Tuesdays & Thursdays of each month. Open House events normally begin in November of each year.
We begin accepting students at age 4 and require that all children turn 5 years old on or before December 2nd of the year they enroll and are required to attend a tour and an Open House event.
The best way to schedule a school tour is to contact our office Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at (510) 652-6800.
Step 2: Apply for Admission
An Admissions packet will be provided at the conclusion of the tour or open house event. The admissions packet includes a cover letter with detailed instructions for completing and submitting your admissions packet, an Admissions Questionnaire, a Tuition Payment Information form, a Request for Cumulative Records, a Confidential Teacher Recommendation form and our 2010-11 Tuition Chart.
When your completed admissions packet has been received, along with your $40 non-refundable application fee, the admissions office will then contact you to schedule an school assessment for your child. Please be sure to call the school to cancel your reservation if your child is unable to attend his/her scheduleled date. Please be sure to complete and submit your admissions packet before the deadline for equal consideration.
Your application may be submitted in person, via email or mail. If you do not have reliable access to the internet, please call the school to request a paper application. Please note that we require all 4 year old applicants to be 4 on or before December 2nd of the year they wish to enroll.
A $40 non-refundable application fee is due with the admissions packet We accept cash, and checks money orders. All applications received after the deadline will be reviewed in the second round.
Step 3: Submit Cumulative Records & Test Scores
Submit this form to your child’s current teacher of the school or daycare (Kindergarten applicants) they are currently attending. This form should be completed and mailed by the school directly to Bridgemount Academy before the application deadline.
Step 4: Submit Two Confidential Teacher Recommendation Forms
Two academic teacher recommendations are required. Teachers completing forms must have taught the student within the last two years. Sign blank Teacher Recommendation Form(s) and give them to your child's current and/or recent teacher(s). Applicants to K only need one recommendation form; applicants to First through Fifth grades should obtain recommendations from two teachers. Teacher Recommendation Forms should be mailed directly to Bridgemount Academy by the teachers.
Step 5: Submit Letter of Recommendation from Parent or Legal Guardian
Step 6: Assessments & Interviews
We are only able to enroll a limited number of families based on the number of spots we predict will be available for the following school year. Much of how we decide on the families to bring in is based on current class composition and the success of your child’s assessment and parent interview.
All families will receive a written letter with an update on your child's application status after completion of all assessments & interviews.
Step 7: Admissions Decisions & Enrollment Fees
All admissions decisions and/or enrollment forms will be mailed out after completion of all assessments and interviews and require that parents enroll their children by deadline provided.
